Appearance inspection
Taking into account the use habits and hand size of children, it is designed to be small and light. It is easy for children to hold and carry, and convenient to use at any time when playing outdoors. Equipped with a lanyard or clip, it can be hung around the neck or clipped on clothes to prevent loss.

Drop test: Drop the walkie-talkie from a certain height (such as the height where a child may fall) onto different surfaces, such as wooden floors, tiles, concrete floors, etc., to check whether the walkie-talkie can still work properly.
Waterproof test: If the walkie-talkie claims to have a waterproof function, you can soak it in water for a period of time, then take it out to check whether there is water ingress and whether all functions are normal.

Battery life test
Fully charge the walkie-talkie and record the charging time.
Turn on the walkie-talkie and put it in call mode or standby mode, and record the time from full charge to exhaustion of the battery.
During the test, you can simulate children's usage habits, such as frequent calls, long standby, etc., to more accurately understand the battery life.

1.Call function test
Turn on two walkie-talkies and set them to the same channel.
Within a certain distance (test according to the call distance on the walkie-talkie manual), one party presses the call button to speak, and the other party listens to see if the sound is clear and without noise. To test the limit of the call distance, you can gradually increase the distance between the two walkie-talkies until the sound begins to blur or interrupt, and record this distance.
Check whether there is a delay during the call, and whether the time difference between speaking and listening is within an acceptable range.

2.Volume adjustment test
Adjust the volume of the walkie-talkie from minimum to maximum, and listen to see if the change in sound is obvious. Test whether the volume is appropriate under different environmental noises, such as in a quiet room and in a noisy outdoor environment.

3.Other function tests
If the walkie-talkie has a positioning function, the accuracy of the positioning can be tested in different locations. One-button emergency function: Press the emergency button to check whether the emergency signal can be sent in time and notified to the preset contact.
For walkie-talkies with special functions, such as alarm clocks, finding equipment, etc., corresponding tests are also required to ensure that these functions work properly.

As a century-old British education brand, Findel approached us with an initial concept to create a children's walkie-talkie for use in schools and nurseries. We were responsible for the entire ODM process, from concept design and 3D printing to mold development, PCB functionality design, testing, and assembly.


Our design team focused on creating a product that was both aesthetically pleasing and practical, ensuring it met safety standards for children. Meanwhile, our engineering team developed a reliable PCB module to guarantee the device's stability. After multiple rounds of testing and refinement, the final product exceeded Findel’s expectations, delivering both the functionality and appearance they desired.
